Points make prizes!

This weekend we are in Kent to see the in laws. As with most people who have a holiday planned in the next few weeks, money is tight. We want to make the most out of our mini break by spending as little as possible.
On this occasion our saviour is The Tesco Clubcard http://www.tesco.com/clubcard/deals/
This is our supermarket of choice and also where we buy our petrol so points can add up pretty quickly. Every 3 months our points are turned into cash and we receive vouchers in the post.
My advice to you is RIP THESE UP!! If you go online you can get up to 4 x the value of your cash and use these for ‘fun days out’, ‘ eating out’ or whatever takes your fancy.
Example
You receive £10 cash voucher in the post. You go to Tesco and spend £10 on your groceries
OR
You receive £10 cash in the post. You go online and make your vouchers go further:-
£10 = £40 to spend at Pizza Express http://www.pizzaexpress.com/
£10 = £40 towards tickets to Hever Castle http://www.hevercastle.co.uk/
£10 = £30 to second at Goldsmiths http://www.goldsmiths.co.uk/
Sounds simple to me, the only difficult decision is choosing what to do!!

Most supermarkets have similar offers available. Check out these websites for more info:

Search and Save!

This weekend we started to prepare for our ski trip by taking some lessons at the local indoor slopes. On top of our holiday, this is pretty pricey at £170 each! However we paid a total of £40 each.

Firstly instead of getting those unwanted toiletries and CD’s for Christmas, we asked our family and friends to get us vouchers to contribute to the cost. It’s much better than asking for money and they know they have contributed to something you really want to do. You can get vouchers for pretty much anything these days so bear this in mind for your upcoming birthday.
Total saving – £160

Secondly I searched the web. I never buy anything online without completing a simple 5 second google search first. “Voucher code for ….” It works about 50% of the time and the amounts you can save vary. I have found the best sites for this are:-
http://www.hotukdeals.com/vouchers
http://www.vouchercodes.co.uk
Straight away I found a code on hotdeals to save £50 off beginner ski lessons! It told me that the code has expired but I tried it anyway and instantly received money off. Bonus!!
Total saving – £100

Next time you buy something online give it a try and let me know how much you saved
